Winemaker Notes

Bright pale straw color. An open fragrant perfume reminiscent of apple pie, delicate spice and milk arrowroot biscuits. Perfectly ripe notes of lemon, peach and mango mingle with light pear and a hint of white pepper. A very comfortable mouthfeel with fleshy softness, fruit sweetness and full body tempered by a beautiful fresh acid crunch toward the finish. Almost a mango-like texture with a tangy twist, fused with slightly undercooked pie crust.

The 2024 Chardonnay Filius is bright and youthful in style, yet holds interest with melon and citrus tones lifted by subtle gunflint and spicy oak. The palate is mid weight with a creamy texture, generous nutty complexity and excellent composure, finishing with admirable subtlety. Brilliant value and release for this label.

About the Producer

Vasse Felix is Margaret River’s founding wine estate and was established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity. Pristine isolation, twin oceans and ancient soils make Margaret River a wine paradise - the ideal environment for growing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The wines are grown in Vasse Felix’s four vineyards situated throughout Margaret River, then estate-made and bottled within the state-of-the-art Vasse Felix winemaking facility.
