Scarpetta Pinot Grigio showcases some of the best sites in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for this aromatic varietal — starting with the light, gravely soils of the Grave region. This gives it a crisp, clean minerality. Additionally, 30% of this Pinot Grigio is planted on "Ponca" soil in the Colli Orientali on steep hillsides. The combination of the Grave and Colli Orientali produces a wine which has body, bright acidity, and great minerality.

Winemaker Notes

Light straw color with just a hint of salmon. Aromas of both stone fruits and melon. Showing Pinot Grigio’s ability to be light on its feet but complex. Melon and stone fruits with minerals and medium body. Pinot Grigio has such a great range. Wonderful on its own as an aperitivo, with light grilled fish like sashimi, pesce crudo or ceviche.

About the Producer

Scarpa isn’t just a winery— it’s a time capsule, a Piedmontese legend with a soft spot for native grapes and a serious aging habit. Founded in 1900 by a Venetian dreamer, Scarpa bloomed under Mario Pesce post-WWII, turning heads with elegant, age-worthy reds. Today, Scarpa’s style is as classic as a cashmere coat: slow fermentations, giant oak casks ( botti grandi ), and a library of vintage Barbera that dates back decades. At the heart of it all is La Bogliona , the flagship Barbera d’Asti that ages like a Barolo and drinks like royalty.
