Rotie Cellars' 2023 estate Syrah comes off Rotie Rocks, the vineyard the winery sits on, planted in 2012 to two clones, 470 and Tablas Creek, and picked as a Northern Rhône homage rather than a Northwest power play. The 5% Viognier is co-fermented rather than blended in after the fact, the old Côte-Rôtie trick that lifts aromatics and knits the mid-palate together instead of just sweetening the edges.
