Winemaker Notes
Our BDX has been a playground for nuance and integration, and this may be the most graceful and finely tuned yet. Brilliant ruby in the glass, it draws you in with lifted, expressive aromatics of bing & black cherry, raspberry, and dried cranberry, along with a high-toned note of dried cherry and a delicate floral shimmer. Barrel influence is beautifully restrained and already well integrated, adding subtle hints of cocoa and toasted brioche that complement rather than dominate. On the palate, this wine bursts with energy from the outset. Red fruit leads the way, sleek and vivid, while the texture is polished and broad through the front and mid-palate. As it opens, earthier, spicier layers begin to emerge — leather, clove, allspice, and a touch of caramel — bringing depth and dimension without sacrificing freshness. The finish narrows into a more focused, tensile line, with mouthwatering acidity, balanced tannins, and a lingering echo of dried violet petals. This is a beautifully composed BDX that already offers tremendous pleasure, but a little more bottle age or a generous decant will reveal even more of its full expression.
