Dogliani is Dolcetto's home turf, and the Pecchenino brothers, Orlando and Attilio, working the same ground their grandfather did, farm it sustainably and let the grape speak for itself. Red-purple with violet edges, it's all blackberry, raspberry, blueberry and red cherry, with a mineral streak running underneath; medium-bodied, soft tannin, moderate acidity, nothing out of place. This is what Dolcetto tastes like when nobody's trying to make it into something else.

Tasting Notes

Red-purple in color with violet nuances. Characterised by aromas of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and red cherries with mineral notes. On the palate the wine is medium bodied, with soft tannins, moderate acidity and a good balance. Dogliani San Luigi pairs well with pizza, pasta, grilled red and white meats, and fresh cheeses.

From a blend of vineyards, the 2024 Dogliani San Luigi pours a youthful magenta hue and was aged entirely in stainless steel. Aromas of fresh berries, cherries, and delicate spice lift from the glass. Medium-bodied, it has a savory, sanguine character with notes of pepper and iron that give the wine a mouthwatering energy on the palate. This versatile Dolcetto should drink well over the next sever

About the Producer

The Pecchenino winery has always been at its core, a family business. Currently the winery is run by Orlando and Attilio Pecchenino, the grandchildren of Attilio Pecchenino.

The first documentation of winemaking activity during the end of the 20th century, when the winery, managed by their grandfather Attilio, had little more than 8 hectares. In the 1970s, the reins of the winery passed into the hands of his son Marino and later, at the end of the 1980s in line with the generational changeover, his sons Orlando and Attilio took over the business.
