Mommessin has been working with a Beaujolais soul and a Burgundian heart since 1865, and this 2022 Gamay makes the case for that dual citizenship. Black cherry and a floral lift of iris up front, then a spicy, unexpectedly ample mid-palate carried on silky tannins to a long finish. Gamay with real structure. This isn't the simple stuff.
