Jean-Paul Hébrart took over from his father in 1997, but the Marc Hébrart name has been on labels since 1964, a Vallée de la Marne grower with the grand cru addresses to back it up: Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Chardonnay from Avize, Chouilly, and Oiry. A 50/50 blend, barrique-raised, full malo, and more than five years sur latte before disgorgement, which is what gives 2013 its breadth across the mid-palate without sanding down the chalk underneath. Grower Champagne with grand cru bones. This is the good stuff, and nobody's dressing it up as anything else.

Jean-Paul Hébrart took over Marc Hébrart from his father in 1997. His father had been producing estate bottled wines since 1964 and joined the Club Trésors in 1985 Jean-Paul has slowly developed the estate in the last 20 years to one of the very finest grower estates in the Marne.
