Moulin-à-Vent is the cru that convinced the wine world Gamay could age, and Trenel's 2019 makes the case in deep ruby: white pepper and cocoa off a light touch of wood, ripe black fruit underneath. The mid-palate is smooth and mineral, the tannins tight rather than showy. Elegance doing the heavy lifting instead of extraction. Beaujolais that has no interest in being drunk young and forgotten.

Tasting Notes

This wine is subtle and elegant with a deep ruby color, and a wide aromatic range of taste. Its light wooded nose brings notes of white pepper and cocoa, melted with the aromas of ripe black fruit. The mouth is smooth, mineral with tight tannins.
