Luis Seabra Xisto Cru Tinto 2022

Two centenarian parcels on opposite sides of the Douro near Pinhão, vines planted between 1910 and 1933, rooted in mica schist and hanging late. Among the last fruit picked in the region. Seven varieties in the field blend, and the result is dark ruby, mineral-driven, all forest floor and smoke over fraise de bois, ripe strawberry and sour cherry, with lively acidity and a wet-stone finish that cuts clean. This is the Douro as a place, not a port house, a hundred years of vine memory in a glass.
