Fred Loimer grew up in Langenlois, the capital of Kamptal, and farms 70 hectares biodynamically. This Niederösterreich blend of Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is what happens when a serious grower decides to have some fun. Stainless steel, four months on full lees and another five after racking, so the fruit stays bright while the mid-palate picks up a little breadth and texture. A field blend of a house wine from one of Austria's best. No oak, no makeup, nothing to hide behind.

About the Producer

Renowned Austrian winemaker Fred Loimer comes from a long-established Langenlois winegrowing family – where Fred was involved in winemaking from a young age. The Loimer winery resides on 70 hectares (172 acres) in Langenlois, the capital of the Kamptal winegrowing region of Austria, located in the northeast part of the country. In 1998 Fred took over the winery from his father and was ready to follow his path, outside of the traditional, long-standing ways.
