About the Producer

Our philosophy of gentle handling extends beyond winemaking to the stewardship of natural resources. We leave 60% of our estate vineyard properties unplanted, allowing natural habitats to thrive and integrating our vines into the land’s ecosystem. We save water through rainwater capture, winery water recycling for vineyard irrigation, and precision drip irrigation guided by soil moisture monitoring. We power 70% of our winery's annual electricity needs with a solar array of 3,000 panels. Our central computer monitors and optimizes energy usage. We improve soil health through reduced tillage, composting, cover crops, livestock integration, and natural pest control, all while sequestering carbon and eliminating chemical fertilizers. La Crema’s sustainability efforts are certified through rigorous third-party audits, including Sustainability In Practice (SIP) and Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW).
