Farconnet takes its name from the family the Chaves acquired part of the fabled Bessards holdings from, and the wine draws on Diognières, Péléat, and Greffieux. Spice from one, finesse from another, structure and flesh from the rest. Fermented in tonneaux and stainless, it lands as classic Hermitage: dark-fruited, mineral, built without ever feeling heavy. Jean-Louis Chave is the most cerebral winemaker in the Northern Rhône, and this is his logic in a glass.
Tasting Notes
Named for the Farconnet family, from whom the Chave family acquired part of the famed Bessards holdings, this Hermitage is sourced from parcels including Diognières, Péléat, and Greffieux. These sites contribute spice, finesse, structure, and flesh, creating a classic Hermitage profile. Fermented in tonneaux and stainless steel and aged 18–24 months in barrel, the wine offers depth and structure while remaining approachable earlier than the domaine bottling.
