Marsanne and Roussanne off the kaolin soils of Larnage. Decomposed granite that gives this white a chalky lift and a spine of minerality most Northern Rhône whites can only wish for. Indigenous-yeast ferment, 15 to 18 months in used oak, so the texture arrives without a stitch of vanilla dressing: broad on the mid-palate, taut at the edges. Chave named it Sybele, from *si belle*. He wasn't exaggerating.
