J. Moreau traces back to 1814, when a young cooper married into a winemaking family and inherited the oldest House in Chablis, a lineage that shows up here as confidence rather than fuss. The 2019 opens with fruit, almond, butter and a flicker of fresh licorice, then turns round and dense on the mid-palate, all citrus marmalade and toasted almond. This is Burgundian Chardonnay with weight on it, and nobody's pretending otherwise.
