I Clivi farms organically in Collio, where marl and sandstone flysch of Eocene origin gives white wine its nerve. And this 2023 Malvasia Istriana has it in spades. Only faintly aromatic, with a gentle chamomile lift, it's acidic yet delicate, the kind of wine where balance isn't a compromise but the whole point. Malvasia with a spine, and nothing dressed up about it.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw yellow. Aromatic and floral — chamomile and white flowers — over ripe stone fruit and dried herbs, with savory saline minerality and the gently bitter almond finish typical of Malvasia Istriana. Dry, textured and full for the variety from 80-year-old vines.
