Hecht & Bannier Cotes du Roussillon Rouge 2015

Hecht & Bannier splits the difference between two Languedoc addresses: cool-sited Limoux for acidity and lift, warmer Minervois for flesh, both on clay-limestone. Cold soak, gentle punch-downs, six months mostly in cement with a touch of neutral oak. Nothing here is trying to be anything but Pinot. Light cherry color, red berries, fresh and round through the mid-palate. Pinot Noir from the south of France, and it wears it well.
