Grosjean's Tzeriat vineyard climbs to 850 meters in the Valle d'Aosta, planted in a steep alpine amphitheater. The estate's oldest Pinot Noir, including the rare Wädenswil strain. Two weeks of daily pressings build a wine that's more about lift and structure than weight, alpine in the best sense: taut, high-toned, cut with mountain air. This is Pinot Noir with an altitude problem, and that's the whole point.
Winemaker Notes
The historic Tzeriat vineyard sits at a high altitude of 850 meters, perfectly positioned in a steep amphitheater, allowing for the distinct alpine characteristics of the pinot noir (the oldest of the estate, including the rare Wadenzwil strain) to show through. This cuvée receives daily pressings for two weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation and 10 months in barrique.
