An attorney and a fashion designer walked away from California in 2014, and after Matt went back for an enology degree the Grosgrain project found its footing here in the Walla Walla Valley. This is 100% Sémillon from Les Collines, a variety that too often gets buried in a blend or drowned in oak. Here it stands alone, with the waxy weight through the mid-palate that makes Sémillon worth taking seriously. Thirty dollars for a single-vineyard white grown twenty minutes from where you're sitting.
