Faury's "Emporium" comes entirely from the Fourvier lieu-dit, schist-grown Syrah planted in 1994, and it sits in demi-muid and barrel about a year longer than his standard Côte-Rôtie. Extra time that reads as polish rather than weight. All the freshness and finesse you expect from this address, with a mid-palate that gives itself up early instead of making you wait. About as downright swallowable as young Côte-Rôtie gets.
