Dauvissat's Montée de Tonnerre grows on Kimmeridgian marly limestone and blue clay. Fossilized seabed, which explains why the wine tastes faintly of the ocean it used to be. Citrus zest and blossom, white peach and pear, white flowers, then that insistent mineral spine of wet stone, flint, and seashell. Ten years on, the 2016 still carries its complexity and intensity without ever losing the thread of balance.
