Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grand Cras 2022

Mee Godard set up shop in Beaujolais in 2013 with the stated goal of making vin de garde from Morgon's benchmark sites, and this single hectare at the foot of Côte du Py, sandy alluvium, southeast-facing colluvial slope, 40-year-old vines, is the friendliest door into that project. The sandy soils push it open and fruit-forward where Côte du Py proper can be brooding, but the structure is still there underneath, holding everything in line. Morgon that doesn't make you wait.
