About the Producer

Domaine Karydas is a truly tiny (3-hectare) and uncompromisingly old-school estate specializing in the small production of just a single wine: pure, unadulterated traditional Xinomavro with no new wood and very little intervention. Founded in 1994 by Konstantinos Karydas, son Petros now manages the estate with all winery work being done by the family with just a few outside harvesters in the fall to help hand-pick the grapes. These are fermented in tank before a long elevage (1.5+ years) in old barrels in the tiny cellar adjacent to the family home. These are intensely characterful and extremely age-worthy reds that would be happy to toe the line with any top Barolo or Barbaresco.
