Red wine from Meursault, which is not what most people expect from the name. 3.78 hectares in scattered parcels that Jules Lafon, Dominique's great-grandfather, bought for a family that's held ground here since 1865. The soils are shallow and clay-heavy over hard limestone, and that shows: dark-colored, deep, with tannins you can actually feel, from vines planted anywhere between 1944 and 2002. Pinot Noir with real weight to it, and the Lafon name on the label besides.
