Domaine Blain-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 2021

Blain-Gagnard exists because a Sancerrois named Jean-Marc Blain married Claudine Gagnard in 1980, and their son Marc-Antonin now works alongside them, a Chassagne domaine built on a marriage. La Boudriotte carries the weight and depth of neighboring Morgeot but with more finesse: yellow apple and lemon over a spine of minerality, with vanilla and toast from 30% new Burgundian pièce. This is white Burgundy doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
