Chéry is Condrieu's noblest slope, and André and Marie Perret farm 50-year-old Viognier on granite, mica, and schist there. The kind of steep, stony pedigree that keeps a famously opulent grape honest. The 2023 is all peach, jasmine, and ginger up front, but there's a chiseled, mineral core running underneath that gives the mid-palate real spine. Viognier this rich has no business being this fresh.
