Hawke's Bay Sauvignon Blanc with the volume turned down on the usual pyrazine shouting. This one leads with lemongrass, kaffir lime and red grapefruit, then quietly folds in nectarine, citrus rind and a whisper of nougat. Sustainably farmed, and the palate follows suit: bright peach and pineapple up front, plusher than you'd expect across the mid-palate, before acidity takes the wheel on the finish. Proof that Sauvignon Blanc can have texture without giving up its edge.
