Sancerre isn't only Sauvignon. Claude Riffault farms La Noue, a 2.5-hectare parcel of Pinot Noir split across seven plots of clay limestone and marl, vines running from ten to sixty years old, all certified organic and biodynamic. The rosé pulls from two directions: juice bled off the Sancerre Rouge after six to twelve hours on skins, blended with direct-press Pinot Noir, which gives it both flesh and cut. Kimmeridgian limestone does the rest. The minerality here isn't decoration, it's the frame.
