Chateau Grillet Condrieu La Carthery 2022

Condrieu 'La Carthery' comes off a quarter-hectare of granitic terraces adjoining Château-Grillet itself. Twelve of them, farmed by an estate that only added this cuvée to its range in 2017. It's a different face of Viognier than you might expect: charming and full-bodied, but with the elegance and balance held intact rather than traded away. Granite gives it a spine, and the wine keeps its integrity all the way through the mid-palate.
