Tarlant works chalk in Champagne with vines the family planted by selection massale between 1946 and 1948. Louis, Georges, Germaine and Geo, four names still holding up this glass. Whole clusters, direct-pressed, spontaneous fermentation in Burgundian barrel with no malolactic and eight months on its lees: half Chardonnay, half Pinot Noir, and the acid stays bright and unbuffered while the barrel lends breadth through the mid-palate. Certified organic, low-sulfur, chalk-driven. This is Champagne as farming, not as branding.
