Champagne Robert Moncuit BdB Les Vozemieux 2015

Les Vozémieux is two-thirds of a hectare in Oger, massal-selection vines planted in 1955 on northwest-facing slopes where chalk subsoil and sharp natural drainage do most of the talking. The cooler exposure means it's always the last parcel picked, and that long hang gives the 2015 both ripeness and tension. Chalk minerality running straight through the mid-palate. The Moncuit family has been farming the Côte des Blancs since 1889 and bottling at the domaine since 1928; this is what that kind of patience tastes like.
