Castello di Verduno farms this Barolo organically on Marne di Sant'Agata, clay-dominant with a seam of limestone and sand, and picks by hand in the first days of October. All estate fruit, all Nebbiolo, with the kind of structure that comes from a site rather than a recipe: the clay gives weight through the mid-palate, the limestone keeps the finish lifted and firm. The parcel was replanted in 2022, so after the 2021 vintage this Riserva goes quiet for years. Drink it while it exists.
