Castello di Verduno's 2019 Barolo grows on the Marne di Sant'Agata. Chalky clay running 55% clay to 15% limestone, the marl that gives Nebbiolo its spine. Hand-picked in mid-October, macerated 30 days with daily punchdowns, then 28 months in big Slavonian casks and nine more in bottle before anyone got to touch it. Unfined and unfiltered, so the tannin arrives with its edges intact. This is Nebbiolo as it actually tastes.

Winemaker Notes
