Giacosa's 2019 Roero Arneis opens with dried peach and lemon over crushed stone, a wine of surprising richness and soft texture that keeps its freshness right through. Medium-to-full bodied with dried fruit on the finish, it's more generous than the vintage usually allows, which makes it either drink-now pleasure or a patient cellar hold.

About the Producer
Piemonte’s Langhe region is famed for the great winemakers it has produced over the past century. Yet, few can rival Bruno Giacosa, not only for the stature of his work, but for the dizzying number of famous wines he made in a career that began in 1961 and ended with his death on January 21, 2018. And while other men have made great wines in either Barolo or Barbaresco, only Giacosa, for more than a half century, produced a steady stream of heroic wines from both zones. In fact, so remarkable were his accomplishments that his legend transcends not only Piemonte, but Italy.
