Ripe wild berry, violet and camphor aromas lead the way on this full-bodied, inviting red. On the savory palate, assertive, close-grained tannins accompany dried cherry, blood orange and licorice before closing on a hint of coffee bean. - Wine Enthusiast
Winemaker Notes
Medium garnet in color, aromas of red fruits and cassis are complemented by delicate hints of licorice, smoke, and caramel. The tannins in this wine are central to the mouth feel, yet they are neither astringent nor tight...in other words, a perfect example of the Neive style.

Vinous“The 2020 Barbaresco is a very pretty, classy wine. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, tobacco, cedar and mint are some of the notes that waft from the glass in this attractive, mid-weight Barbaresco. I would give this a bit of air to help the bouquet come together. It's a lovely wine from Castello di Neive, and absolutely stellar in its peer group.”

Jeb Dunnuck“The medium ruby/red 2021 Barbaresco is fresh and inviting with aromas of grenadine, raspberries, orange, mint, and fresh thyme. Elegant and medium-bodied, it continues with wonderfully fresh energy on the palate, revealing fine tannins, a fresh, even spice of acidity, a nice touch of citrus, and a clean, mineral-toned finish. I love the saline notes and freshness throughout. It’s very well done.”
