Winemaker Notes

Intense ruby red color with violet nuances. On the nose the wine is fruity with aromas of blackberries, blueberries and red cherries. There are hints of minerals. This wine is full bodied, with soft tannins and a good balance. Pairs wonderfully with pasta, grilled and roasted meat, and minimally aged cheeses.

Professional Ratings

90 Vinous

“A wine of substance and presence, the 2022 has plenty to offer. Dark red/purplish fruit, incense, leather, game, pomegranate and dried herbs build nicely in an ample, resonant Dogliani endowed with tons of character.”

About the Producer

The Pecchenino winery has always been at its core, a family business. Currently the winery is run by Orlando and Attilio Pecchenino, the grandchildren of Attilio Pecchenino. The first documentation of winemaking activity during the end of the 20th century, when the winery, managed by their grandfather Attilio, had little more than 8 hectares. In the 1970s, the reins of the winery passed into the hands of his son Marino and later, at the end of the 1980s in line with the generational changeover, his sons Orlando and Attilio took over the business.
