Pecchenino's Langhe Riesling opens with pear and peach, floral hints of acacia and hawthorn, and a mineral spine that carries through, a wine built for food, not showing off. Three generations of family stewardship in a glass.
Winemaker Notes
In the glass it is limpid, of an intense yellow color with greenish reflections; on the nose there are fruity hints reminiscent of pear and peach and floral scents such as acacia flowers and hawthorn. After half a year there are more mineral notes, in some cases accentuated by the typical scent of hydrocarbons, which characterizes the wine. In the mouth it is soft, balanced and in the finish there is a good acidity that gives length and persistence to the palate.
About the Producer
The Pecchenino winery has always been at its core, a family business. Currently the winery is run by Orlando and Attilio Pecchenino, the grandchildren of Attilio Pecchenino.
The first documentation of winemaking activity during the end of the 20th century, when the winery, managed by their grandfather Attilio, had little more than 8 hectares. In the 1970s, the reins of the winery passed into the hands of his son Marino and later, at the end of the 1980s in line with the generational changeover, his sons Orlando and Attilio took over the business.
