Pecchenino's 2019 Barolo is a study in silky power: dark stone fruit and licorice on the nose, with a palate of ripe cherry and blackberry that's structured by well-integrated tannins rather than overwhelmed by them. A classical Nebbiolo from producers who've built their reputation on meticulous vineyard work.

Winemaker Notes

On the nose there are hints of plum, raspberry, ripe red and black cherry, blackberry, liquorice. The palate is classic, rich, powerful with silky, well-integrated tannins.

About the Producer

The Pecchenino winery has always been at its core, a family business. Currently the winery is run by Orlando and Attilio Pecchenino, the grandchildren of Attilio Pecchenino. The first documentation of winemaking activity during the end of the 20th century, when the winery, managed by their grandfather Attilio, had little more than 8 hectares. In the 1970s, the reins of the winery passed into the hands of his son Marino and later, at the end of the 1980s in line with the generational changeover, his sons Orlando and Attilio took over the business.
