Thursday Tasting — Basalt Bash | July 23
Six barrels. One weekend. Gone.
Every bottle in this flight exists exactly once — one-off barrel lots from the Basalt Bash, the Rocks District's charity auction, numbered by hand and available nowhere else. Most are grown on the Milton-Freewater cobblestones the labels legally can't name: Gramercy's Holy Roller Syrah opens with the prettiest face of the Rocks, Delmas and Devison split a barrel between SJR and Les Collines, Willamette newcomers Violet Vines throw the night's biggest punch, Robert Gomez's Hoquetus answers with red fruit and a lighter hand, Pasxa blends Rock Garden and Le Mani, and a Devison x Dusted Valley Syrah off Stoney Vine closes it out. Christophe Baron's first solo Cabernet Franc from En Cerise poured by the ounce alongside. Last year the auction sent $75,000 to student mental-health care in Milton-Freewater — this year's runs the weekend after we pour. No reservation needed. Just show up.
